Spring has sprung and that means wedding season has begun! We are busy little bees putting all of our spring weddings together and loving the sweet aroma of all the blossoms. At the moment we are heading out for our rock steady wedding and everything is looking smashing! Have you headed over to Grey Likes lately? Our one love wedding was recently featured, you can find it here! Thanks Grey! Before we leave you for the weekend we wanted to share an awesome new company...

Every now and again we get a bride in search of a dress that is more on the modest side. Finding a dress that is fashionable and conservative can be a challenge. We just discovered the company Illume Gowns and are so glad we did. Their chic modest gowns are sure to please all brides!
They also have decided to give our readers (that's you!) a special discount code. They will be offering 15% off with the code: AMOROLOGY-DISCOUNT15 which is good for a one time use until 4/30/14

At Home With Heather and Troy

In case you missed it Heather and Troy's happy place was recently featured! Anyone can see that Heather undoubtedly has an eye for style when looking through the weddings she designs. San Diego Magazine knew this and wanted to take a deeper look at her inspiring taste. What better way to do this than to enter her home? Sentimental souvenirs from her weddings, items old and new, unexpected colors and textures, along with life and song create Heather and Troy's eclectic home. Thanks San Diego Magazine for sharing The Balliet's decor and loving it as much as we do!

Happy Friday Friends!

We are loving that spring has officially arrived and all the blossoms that come with it! Here in Carlsbad we have a beautiful hillside of ranunculus planted in a rainbow of colors. It is a must see for this time of year!

We have plenty to share with you today! Did anyone come across this video the lovely photographers at LimeLife made showcasing local wedding planners? It was so sweet of them to include us! We were also included in on the Huffington Post Spring Wedding Ideas roundup.  The pinwheel backdrop they featured that our bride made for her wedding was definitely a hit! You can learn how to make it yourself here. Last but not least, one of our favorite Etsy shops is having a sale and wanted to include our readers! The ever so talented Courtney of Joyful Joyful Designs creates playful wedding banners and signs. You can get 15% off on until the end of March with the code WEDDINGLOVE. Wanting something specific? She is happy to help design custom orders as well.

Keep your eyes open for a post this afternoon from us because we will be having a surprise contest! Oops! Did I just spill the beans?

Details: Ocean Crush Paper Elements

While catching up on our all time favorite blogs we came across this post over at Grey Likes Weddings and we were pleasantly surprised to see the soft paper elements from Lindsay and Danny's ocean crush wedding. The paper elements in a wedding may not be the first detail to come to a planning bride's mind, but they are a key note in creating a harmonized celebration. While working with Lindsay we soon discovered how calm and laid back she and her soon-to-be husband were. That softness they possessed along with their love for the ocean created a beautiful vibe that we translated into their stationary with the ever so talented Megan from MaeMae Paperie. It is always such a joy to see our work continue to inspire, thanks for sharing Grey!

Hello Friends!

We hope you all had a wonderful week. Did you get a chance to see our Tabletops: Forward March feature on the Exquisite Weddings Magazine's website? The inspiration was from two of our real-life couples, one who met while in the army and our other who met while working in a hospital. You won't want to miss the gorgeous images of the finished tabletop we created with Twigg Botanicals.

The images above our from some of our favorite pins this week.

Real Wedding: The Remedy

When Devi and Ryan met in a hospital in LA, these two doctors knew they showed all the symptoms for a love that was sure to last. For their Torrey Pines Hilton Indian-fusion wedding we found inspiration in their shared love of the medical field and for life. This couple was a dream to work with, who was not only willing to trust us but have fun throughout the process and the results were positive!

Ryan made his grand entrance during the baharat, where he was brought into the ceremony on a horse. The ceremony further hinted to the concept and feel of the event by exhibiting a custom sign we created that read “where there is love there is life”… a favorite phrase of the groom’s. This hung above them on the Mandap as they participated in two ceremonies, one Indian and one Western.

As guests entered the ceremony they passed through the “Waiting Room” and were directed to check in and leave their prescription for a good marriage at the receptionist’s desk. Colorful clipboards adorned the office wall while displaying guest names and what room they were to be seen in (A.K.A. Table assignments) for later that evening.

As guests made their way into the reception, they were greeted with candy pill bottle favors that
read “There is no remedy to love, but to love more.” by Henry David Thoreau. The bride’s favorite animal, the elephant, was brought in through whimsy custom table numbers and paper elements by Brightly Designed  that illustrated elephants with different medical instruments. Candle votives were appropriately wrapped with white gauze adding another decor element and texture to the table. Gorgeous centerpieces by Twigg Botanicals made of coral charm peonies, tulips, dahlias and dripping with white phaleonopsis orchids offered the ballroom a lushness and garden feel. The vases were also custom wrapped with the first-aid plus sign that we carried throughout the event… hinting towards a love that makes everything better.

After dinner, guests indulged on a delicious “Sugar Coma” dessert bar which included cupcakes named: Case of the Coconuts, CPR (Chocolate Peanut Butter Resuscitation), Viral Vanilla, Chocolate Check Up, An Apple a Day, Chocolate Overdose and Caramel Consciousness all created by Hey There Cupcake.

The sweetness continued with the couple’s first dance and a garter toss where Devi blindfolded her groom and tricked him into getting the garter off his best man’s leg rather than hers!  The escort card wall that we created also was re-purposed later in the evening and made for a fun photo booth with all types of props that we supplied to really let the guests "play doctor".  :)

Only two weeks before our little Navy Jane was born, Troy and I jumped in for a quick photo.  I had been feeling contractions all during the set up and throughout the wedding and was sure I was going to go into labor that evening!  I felt in particularly good hands though with a room full of doctors.  There couldn't have been better timing for this wedding!

Sunday Romance beautifully captured the bright pops of orange, pink and purple this fusion wedding had to offer. We loved working with Ryan and Devi and hope their future is filled with all the health and happiness that they deserve!

This multicultural wedding was recently featured on Ruffled. Head on over to take a look!
