Real Wedding: Nikki & Andrew

If you couldn't tell by their engagement shoot you know now, Nikki and Andrew are one creative and outdoorsy duo! Nikki and Andrew have a love for animals. Two specifically, dogs and fish. What do you get when you throw this unlikely pair of creatures together? A dog beach themed wedding!

Choosing the scenic Pelican Hill as the location was a perfect fit for this affair. The scenic views overlooking the ocean really reflected the couples love for water.

Playing into the "something borrowed" tradition was the ring pillow made from the mother of the bride's wedding dress train. Square Root Designs did a stunning job with all of the floral arrangements. Roses and hydrangeas paired with succulents  gave that elegant beach feel we were creating.

"Please fetch your name..." was displayed above our dog beach escort card table. Guests grabbed their names from paw printed sand. Brightly Designed beautifully created the paper elements, leaving them elegant and yet playful. Dog beach has never looked so good!  We were in love with these little pups that we found that helped to set the scene!

During the cocktail hour guests celebrated with a "Flip Flop Hooray" and slipped into sandals. Different sized sandals awaited them in baskets.

When the guests sent in their RSVPs they added a joke to go along with it. The bride and groom choose their favorites and they were placed on cards in the shape of funny bones.  Finding a joke at each table was a great way to get guest to relax and feel at ease.

Friends and family "fished" in our candy bar with a flowing ribboned backdrop.

The themed table names were displayed with printed pictures of different dog breeds and fish species onto vintage dictionary paper.

All different textures went into decorating this affair. The cake was no exception. Scalloped with fish like scales the cake stood above a waterfall of florals. Who knew scales could look so good on a wedding cake?

During dessert guests were asked to "take a dip" into the donut station where they were able to top their own donuts and enjoy mini milkshakes and sliders.

White candles romantically set the mood during the reception.

Thank you Nikki and Andrew for including us in this truly unique wedding! And thank you Caroline Tran for capturing these breathtaking photographs!

ok, i've been a lurker for a long time, but this wedding is just too adorable not to come out of my cave and comment. it's nice to see a super feminine, pink wedding that doesn't take itself too seriously. it's fresh and happy. the doggy details are tooooo cute!
