Pernel + Aaron: Good Day Sunshine

I'm in the middle of getting ready for a big wedding this weekend...but I can't wait any longer. I just have to share pictures from Pernel & Aaron's wedding last month and it is worth staying up all hours of the night to do so. :)

Athough the morning of the wedding started out with some rain and gave us all a little scare...almost perfectly on cue, it cleared up as we had finished unloading everything from the car and allowed for a beautiful outdoor event. It truly started as ... A GOOD DAY SUNSHINE!

From the minute I met Pernel & Aaron I simply loved them! They are a ray of sunshine! They have a respect for each other that is clearly evident by the way they treat other. They are beautiful on the outside and just as charming on the inside. I knew we would need a wedding to match. I was so excited when Pernel gave me a palatte of mint green, aqua, lemon yellow, peony pink and a touch of poppy red to play with! This is one of those color combinations that just immediately began to inspire.

Aaron often would bring Pernel Peonies (her favorite flowers)...so of course we had to fill her bouquet with them! Twigg Botanicals did an absolutely amazing job with this wedding. I think this may have been one of my mom's very favorite bouquets she has done. The gorgeous bundle of peonies, garden roses and billy balls was breathtaking.

I loved Aaron's boutonniere too made of simple fever few, a rose and freesia

The bridesmaids looked beyond darling in their shift dresses from Anthropologie.

How cute are the invitations too?... done by Pernel's talented bridesmaid Bethann.

The programs and all of the other paper elements were done by Courtney Scowby Design and offered more of the vintage lace that we were craving.

The ceremony was touching and beautiful and included a performance by the Brothers of both the bride and groom.

Each of the scalloped paper table names was titled after something yellow and were placed among the centerpieces. Some of my favorites were Sunny Day, Buttercup, Happy Face, Lemondrop and Buttercream. Each plate was also placed with a lemon and tied with ribbon and a tag that read, "Pucker up".

we gathered vintage elements of Hobnail milk glass and Jadite for the tables to bring the mint color. I loved the charming feel they offered. The cake, beautifully done by Sweet Cheeks, sat upon a jadite stand and was adorned with vintage battenburg lace we had found and peonies.

We also painted over 100 mason jars aqua to bring the pop of color to the table. We tied the jars with ribbon and filled the jars with candles and various flowers.

Glasses of sugared lemondrops held the escort cards and helped direct guests to their seats. These jars of lemondrops later turned into a favor bar at the end of the night, where guests could scoop up candy to take home for themselves. I am always all about the re-purposing.

One of my favorite parts of the wedding was the dessert bar we came up with. The table was titled " MY SWEET" and each item we hand-picked with Davlyn the creator of Two Sweet Things to correspond with various terms of endearment. Guests snacked on Honey Buns, Love Muffins, baby cakes, Cutie Pies, etc.

The Lemonade was also titled " Main Squeeze" ...in keeping with the terms of endearment.

Love this picture of these self-proclaimed 2nd Tier bridesmaids..both in the same dress. :) HA! Many of you may recognize one of my favorite brides, Alison from The Lovebird wedding...also one of Pernel's friends. Always love a good reunion!
Okay, so...when Aaron & Pernel told me that they would be doing a little swing dance I had no idea that there would be flipping and twirling, Splits and all types of professional "So You Think You Can Dance" type stuff. A-MAZING!! Pernel did a quick change into her little white swing dress and red shoes and the two of them captured all of our attention.

As they left guests formed a daisy arch with flowers we passed out for them to run under. A vintage Rolls Royce greeted them to take them away.

Aaron and Pernel Martin...It is true, AM+PM does = The perfect Day!! How cute are you?? I love that! It has been so much fun getting to know you and spending time with you! I can't wait to see all the wonderful things the future holds for you.

Last but very not least...a HUGE big thank you to Hugh Forte for the beautiful photos. There are times when your photographers just get it and Hugh just got it! Incredible!

The colors are amazing and I love, love, love how everything was labeled with fun little terms of endearment - I especially liked main squeeze for the lemonade.

Thanks for sharing another great wedding

Another amazing wedding Heather! So fun and pretty and could they be a cuter couple?! I just adore lemons and blue, so this is pretty much one of my favorite weddings ever.

And the brides dress is just gorgeous! Any ideas who it is by?
